For the love of paper
Kathrin Aleite, a Stockholm native born in 1987 with strong ties to northern Germany, embarked on her artistic journey as a teenager. She honed her creative skills during a four-year photography program at the University of Applied Sciences Novia in Finland. Kathrin's art primarily takes shape through captivating collages, where she explores an array of materials and mediums. Her work is influenced by the avant-garde Dadaist movement and the bold aesthetics of brutalism and minimalism. However, what truly sets her apart is her exploration of poignant themes. Her art delves into issues of identity, the complex portrayal of the female body, and the dual expectations placed on women. She skillfully weaves personal memories and experiences into her work, creating pieces that resonate on multiple levels.
